Letter from Lisa
As a licensed physical therapist, certified mindfulness meditation instructor, and recently retired certified athletic trainer, my training has helped me provide care for adults for over 30 years. My focus for the last 20+ years has been on helping those with vestibular and balance-related impairments. In addition to treating patients, I am a clinical faculty member and guest instructor in different departments at Nova Southeastern University. I have also been a faculty member and co-director of the American Physical Therapy Association’s Vestibular Rehabilitation: A Competency-Based Course with both pediatric and adult courses for many years. Along with these courses, I have also taught various postgraduate courses through Symmetry Alliance. In total, these courses have reached thousands of rehabilitation professionals. Additionally, throughout my career, I have served my profession by being an active member of the Florida and American Physical Therapy Associations.
In 2017, I founded Symmetry Alliance because of my desire to bring together like-minded professionals who are dedicated to raising the bar when it comes to patient care. One of the things I have learned as a sole practitioner is that I can’t be all things to all people. Consequently, I have searched for and built valuable relationships with industry-leading practitioners and researchers, not only in my profession but also from other medical professions. With this network, I have been fortunate enough to have incredible mentors, who have provided me with tremendous learning opportunities. Subsequently, I have been able to apply what I have learned to my patients. I established Symmetry Alliance to provide medical professionals, especially next-gen practitioners, with similar opportunities for learning by making available high-quality continuing education and program development to help improve the medical care within their communities.
In 2020, after observing how my own daily meditation practice, as well as how teaching basic meditation lessons to my patients, has provided numerous benefits for healing and for a greater quality of life, I expanded my knowledge and became a certified instructor through the McLean Meditation Institute©. I have incorporated this knowledge into Symmetry Alliance by providing meditation and mindfulness training for those that want to practice meditation. This learning opportunity is for both first-time practitioners who want to make sure they are successful with meditating as well as for those that want to grow their already established meditation practice.
I look forward to helping you reach your health and learning goals through the courses I provide on Symmetry Alliance. I am also available to speak for organizations that are interested in learning more about vestibular rehabilitation and mindfulness meditation. Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions.
All the best,
